The Pennwood Scouting Centre -

 The Campsite

Various grassy glades set amongst a mixture of newly established and ancient woodland make Pennwood the ideal campsite for a wide range of camping, including

  • Small 'Patrol Camps'

  • Back-packing expeditions

  • Cub Scout Camps

  • Scout Troop Summer Camps

  • Explorer Scout Unit events

  • Group Camps or even bigger events.

From many parts of the site there are fine views across the Severn Plain to the Welsh Mountains beyond.

  Cooking

Many campers prefer to cook on gas, while those using the site to camp as part of a pack packing expedition use a range of modern light-weight stoves.

For those who wish to cook over open fires altar fires are provided, but you will need to provide your own wood.

For an additional charge it is possible for campers to hire the Pennwood Cabin, which has a kitchen and a hall that can be used for indoor dining.

  Capacity

The campsite is open all year round, and has a maximum capacity of 75 campers at any one time.

(Small groups may not always have sole use of the site)
